Culture Street by Hang Chen

Artisan Echoes Culture Street by Hang Chen This project is based on the coordination of the needs of tourists visiting the Purple Pottery Industrial Park and the residents living nearby. The designer observes the production facilities of Purple Pottery and uses artistic creativity to incorporate their appearance into the modern design of the buildings. At the same time, the design respects the natural environment and arranges the buildings according to the original topography, creating a unique cultural and creative block with diverse functions such as cultural exhibitions, art workshops, and specialty dining.

Affordable Rental Houses by Hang Chen

Urban Pastoral Affordable Rental Houses by Hang Chen This design takes into consideration the need for affordable rental housing in Shanghai, the impact of epidemics, and China's carbon reduction policies. The designer creates a community vegetable plantation within the settlement and small vegetable gardens on the roofs of buildings of different heights. Together, they form a multi-level growing system that provides safe and easily accessible food for residents. Additionally, each floor of the building has a public space that encourages neighborhood interaction and serves as a service place for emergency medical control during epidemics.

Cultural Space by Hang Chen

Tea Time Cultural Space by Hang Chen Tea Time is a reimagined tea house in Jianshui Ancient Town, designed to blend tradition with modern aesthetics. It enhances light, airflow, and spatial flow while preserving historical charm. Six immersive tea experiences unfold in a space shaped by copper-toned facades, transparent details, and nature-inspired elements. Water-textured acrylic, glass tiles, and preserved elmwood create a sensory journey, where architecture and nature shape each moment in time.

Public Infrastructure by Hang Chen

It features solar panels, kinetic devices, and green paths, blending clean energy with eco design. Drawing from the site's industrial past and natural surroundings, it provides event venues and field zones. The project reimagines infrastructure as a shared civic asset, turning the substation from an isolated facility into a community resource.
