Seyedali Miri is an Iranian young and award-winning designer who lives in Sultanate of Oman, whose work bridges the worlds of engineering, architecture, and hospitality. With a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s in Architecture, he brings a rare interdisciplinary vision to the design world a vision that has earned him international acclaim.

In 2025, Miri’s innovative lighting design, “Aurum Light”, won the prestigious A’ Design Award, one of the most respected international competitions in product and industrial design. The piece fuses cultural heritage with modern needs, using traditional aesthetics and contemporary engineering to create a multi-functional lighting object. The design was also honored by DNA Paris Design Awards and widely featured in global design media.

He later collaborated with design lead Jalal Mashhadifard to create a unique chair, which received the New York Product Design Award. This success further demonstrated Miri’s ability to respond creatively to functional needs with elegance and simplicity.

Beyond academic and design achievements, Miri’s deep understanding of user behavior and spatial needs comes from his years of direct experience in the hospitality industry. Having worked in hotel management and guest experience, he has interacted with people from a wide range of cultures and nationalities. These daily encounters have shaped his worldview and profoundly influenced his design philosophy.

He believes that true design goes beyond beauty and function it is a response to human emotion, culture, and lifestyle. His exposure to diverse user needs has given him a practical, human-centered approach that is visible in all his work. “Aurum Light,” for instance, is not just a lighting fixture but a storytelling object blending engineering precision with visual poetry.

Miri is now focused on redefining design within the hospitality sector, aiming to create thoughtful, cross-cultural, and efficient environments that serve both aesthetic and functional purposes. His background allows him to integrate design thinking with operational understanding shaping spaces that are not only beautiful but also deeply attuned to real-world use.
